We are looking for a Software Developer for our Retail POS team – is it you?

You will be a part of a cross functional development team consisting of both product owner, developers, quality assurance and support engineers. Working on both product development and customer specific projects in a scrum-based process.
You and your team will deliver both smaller tasks with maintenance nature and big projects such as new features or integrations. The team is responsible for analyzing problems, defining scope, break down, implementing and testing the solutions.
You will refer directly to Fiftytwo’s Head of POS Development and become a part of the very competent development department in Denmark and work closely with team members in our sister company in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Your workplace will be located at our office in Glostrup.
The team works on the complete POS solution which simply consists of a Master Pricer and Rest API’s and peripherals dependent on the user case. The Master Pricer is the core component of our system, responsible for computing the right price, and is used for both our traditional tills as well as our customers’ online shops and apps - omnichannel.
Peripherals are both hardware integrations like scanners, printers and EFT/payment terminals, as well as third party integrations like customer loyalty, gift cards etc.
A multifaceted role
Our tech stack consists of, among others:
- Kotlin (Android and JVM)
- MHD REST backend
- Version control using Git
- CI/CD using Jenkins
Your role will include the following:
- Write performance enterprise grade software
- Help improve team performance by collaborating in scrum ceremonies, including: planning, estimation, stand-up and retrospectives
- Assist QA colleagues in testing and writing automated tests
- Help us improve our product by giving great ideas to product owners
Critical success factors – what do we expect?
You have been working as a software developer for a few years. You have experience with a high-level object-oriented language. Experience with our current tech stack is a positive but not a requirement.
The ideal candidate has the following personal attributes:
- Team player – you thrive in a team-based environment
- Analytic – You feel comfortable entering a large codebase and making sense of the logic or lack thereof. You understand that implementation is the least part of problem solving
- Communicative – you are friendly and precise in your communication, both internally with the team as well as with other internal and external parties including customers.
You must be fluent in English, both written and orally.
