Toys'r'us wants to raise their service-level to improve customer experience. To address this, Toys'r'us has chosen to implement a self-checkout solution from Fiftytwo and Diebold Nixdorf.
Self-checkout is a great way to serve customers in retail stores who know what they want and don’t necessarily need a lot of help or guidance. Instead of standing in line at the ordinary cash register they can quickly serve themselves and move on.
Therefore, Toys'r'us and Fiftytwo have agreed on a proof of concept to implement the new self-checkout stands in their stores. This way Toys'r'us can take their business to a new level.
The self-checkout stands will replace some of the ordinary cash registers that demands a cashier, whereas the self-checkout stands only need the assistance of the customer buying the product. One of the advantages of self-checkout is that employees now can give the customers a better service and guidance when needed.
The implementation of the self-checkout stands has the purpose of making the customer experience more fluent, easy and efficient. This solution permits the Toys'r'us store to serve more customers in a shorter period of time.
It’s only natural for us to work closely with our customers no matter where in the world their business is. And it’s amazing to take active part in this journey and to see how self-checkout technology can make retail shopping easy and convenient for the customers and bring value to the business. That’s exactly what we are here for!
- Peter Møller, Sales and Marketing Director, Fiftytwo
Fiftytwo has worked hard together with Toys'r'us to make it happen. And at the beginning of June in Sweden, we installed together with Diebold Nixdorf self-checkout stands in the first BR store ever. It took less than 28 days, from Toys'r'us handed over the idea to Fiftytwo until we delivered the proof of concept solution.
